LAKE WALES, Fla. – A 24-year-old Lake Wales man was arrested early Friday morning after allegedly burglarizing a property and resisting arrest.
Polk County Sheriff’s deputies and Lake Wales Police officers responded to a burglary in progress on Scenic Highway around 12:41 a.m. Upon arrival, they encountered Shane Smith, who resisted their attempts to apprehend him.
That’s when K-9 Boss stepped in to assist. The K-9’s presence quickly convinced Smith to cooperate, and he was taken into custody without further incident.
Smith was transported to the Polk County Jail and faces multiple charges, including burglary, trespassing, resisting arrest, and violation of probation for battery on a law enforcement officer.
