WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – A Winter Haven woman is facing charges after allegedly fleeing the scene of a car accident on Saturday evening.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested 26-year-old Jaimee Haley following a crash at the intersection of Recker Highway and County Road 542, west of Winter Haven.

Deputies responded to the scene around 5:51 PM after receiving a report of a two-vehicle crash involving a blue 2012 Ford Escape and a silver 2013 Chevy Equinox. The driver of the Equinox had fled the scene.
Fortunately, the driver of the Escape, who was uninjured, managed to take a photo of the fleeing Equinox, including its license plate number. This crucial evidence allowed deputies to track down the suspect.

Deputies located Haley at her workplace and found her damaged vehicle. While Haley claimed to have experienced a medical episode that caused the crash, the investigation did not support her claim.
Haley was arrested and transported to the Polk County Jail, where she was charged with leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.
