POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A 76-year-old man from Polk City has died following a single-vehicle crash on State Road 400 on Thursday evening.
Around 6:30 PM, the man was driving a Toyota Tundra westbound on Interstate 4, near milepost 47, when he experienced a medical emergency. This caused him to lose control of his vehicle, veer into the center median, and collide with a cable barrier.

The driver was transported to a local hospital but sadly died from his injuries.
The exact cause of death and the nature of the medical emergency are yet to be determined.
