Political Outrage Erupts Over Tim Tebow Going Back To The NFL

Former Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback and University of Florida star Tim Tebow appears to be headed back to the NFL.

Multiple reports indicate that Tebow is expected to sign a one-year contract with the Jacksonville Jaguars in the coming days, now coached by Urban Meyer, Tebow’s college coach.

And because nothing is immune from politics, leftists are none too happy about it.

Left-wing Twitter blue checkmarks went afire at the news, which was broached on Monday, because Tebow, who is white, is being given a chance to return to the NFL.

Colin Kaepernick, who is black and drove the kneeling craze when the American flag is displayed and the national anthem was sung, continues to play left out.

Many of the teeth-gnashing anti-Tebow Twitterati complained it was another example of “white privilege.”

Others, such as USA Today’s NFL editor Doug Farrar, did a little better at masking their hatred.

“I don’t ever want to hear another word about how Colin Kaepernick isn’t good enough for another shot at the NFL,” Farrar tweeted.

Farrar, and others, simply ignored overlooked that Tebow is not playing quarterback but opting for another position. They also ignored Kaepernick’s own history.

Meanwhile, Kaepernick, a mediocre talent who has been far better at Social Justice Warrioring than playing quarterback, had his chances.

Kaepernick he became a free agent in 2017, he rejected an offer from the San Francisco 49ers, his former team. A year later, John Elway disclosed that the Denver Broncos offered Kaepernick a contract. That, too, was refused.

Then, in 2019, the NFL gave Kaepernick a chance at a private workout for the scouts. Eleven teams committed to watching Kaepernick perform. Yet, per Breitbart, “Despite the generous offer made only to help Kaepernick get his career back on track, he refused the league’s offer to work out in front of team representatives and, instead, set up his own workout at which few team reps attended.”

Tebow is hated because he was a fierce competitor, despite his limited skills as a quarterback, and was a devout Christian who openly displayed his faith on and off the field.

The good news is that Tebow has defenders.

Brandon Spikes, a black linebacker who played with Tebow at UF, said in tweet string, “His college coach is now the head coach of the only team to give him a tryout. His coach knows he is a hard-working and team-oriented athlete that would be happy to play a role. Why are y’all still confused?!?”

“Tim Tebow,” Spikes added, “will be an inspiration in any locker room trust me i know.”

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh observed on Twitter, “People like Tim Tebow because he’s grateful, positive, and humble. They hate Kaepernick because he’s a sullen, spoiled, rotten little brat. Both are immensely privileged. Only one responds with gratitude. People like that one and not the other. Not that hard to understand.”
