Police Investigating “Violent” Death Of Elderly Woman Found In St. Petersburg Condo

 Police in St. Petersburg are investigating a homicide after a woman's body was found on Thursday.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Police in St. Petersburg are investigating a homicide after a woman’s body was found on Thursday.

According to investigators, shortly after 1 p.m., police began investigating the suspicious death of a woman found in a condo at the Parkshore Plaza Condo, 300 Beach Drive NE.

Police say, “A 70-year-old woman failed to meet a friend for a planned meeting. They were concerned for her welfare and asked maintenance to check her condo at 300 Beach Dr. N.E. They entered and found the victim.”

Officers said the woman died from “violent trauma”.

Through the investigation, it was discovered that the victim’s boyfriend, Tracy Lee Lukanic, had committed suicide by jumping off the top floor of the Sundial parking garage at 117 2nd St. N. earlier Thursday morning.
