POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Lanoris Parker, a 49-year-old from Poinciana, is facing serious charges after Polk County Sheriff’s deputies discovered a scene of shocking animal neglect and environmental violations at a property he rented in Davenport.
The property owner initially contacted the Sheriff’s Office after noticing several dogs in cages that appeared to be in poor health. Upon arrival, deputies found a horrifying scene: two deceased dogs in crates, several others in dire condition, and no food or water in sight.

The surviving dogs were rushed to Polk County Animal Control for emergency treatment. A veterinarian determined that the animals were severely emaciated, with no discernible body fat and obvious muscle loss. Three of the dogs were in such critical condition that they later succumbed to their injuries.
“The horrific abuse and neglect that these animals suffered is too awful for words,” said Sheriff Grady Judd. “The photos don’t even adequately describe how much pain these dogs were in.”
But the horrors didn’t stop there. Deputies also uncovered an illegal dumping ground on the property, littered with over 400 pounds of waste, dilapidated structures, and a massive burn pile. Parker was charged with operating an unpermitted landfill, burning without a permit, and keeping a nuisance injurious to health.

And if that wasn’t enough, when deputies went to arrest Parker at his Poinciana home, they found another six dogs crammed into crates in a garage without food, water, or ventilation. Another investigation was launched, and those dogs were also seized.
Parker is now facing a slew of charges, including 15 counts of felony animal cruelty and two counts of confining animals without food or water. He’s currently in the Polk County Jail on a bond of $80,500.
Sheriff Judd vowed to hold Parker accountable and ensure he never owns animals again. This case serves as a stark reminder of the importance of reporting suspected animal cruelty and neglect.
