PLANT CITY, Fla. – The westbound I-4 exit ramp (Exit 21) to Alexander Street (SR 39) will be closed overnight on Friday, April 4th, for paving operations.
The closure will be in effect from 9:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4th, to 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 5th, weather permitting.

Westbound I-4 motorists needing to access Alexander Street (SR 39) will be detoured as follows:
- Exit I-4 at Exit 21.
- Turn left onto Paul Buchman Highway (SR 39A).
- Turn left onto Sam Allen Road.
- Proceed toward Alexander Street (SR 39).
Electronic message boards and signage will be in place to assist drivers navigating the detour. Motorists are advised to use caution while driving through the work zone and to remain alert for construction workers.
This temporary ramp closure is part of the I-4 repaving project from east of McIntosh Road to County Line Road in Hillsborough County.
