POLK COUNTY, Fla – A 29-year-old Plant City resident, Brian Ruiz, found himself in trouble with the law after a series of questionable choices led to his arrest in Polk County on Tuesday, October 29th.
Around 12:07 p.m., a Polk County Sheriff’s Office deputy stopped Ruiz near Wabash Avenue and Memorial Boulevard in Lakeland. Ruiz was driving an unregistered yellow Ford Mustang with a license plate that belonged to a Toyota.

This traffic stop uncovered another issue: Ruiz had an active warrant out of Hillsborough County for violation of probation related to a criminal mischief charge.
Ruiz was arrested on the outstanding warrant and transported to the Polk County Jail. He faces additional charges for the vehicle registration and tag violations.
