Plant City Brush Fire Engulfs Vehicles, Boats, And Structures

PLANT CITY, Fla. – Hillsborough County Fire Rescue (HCFR) is currently battling a large brush fire that has consumed multiple vehicles, boats, and structures in Plant City. The fire broke out just before 2 p.m. today, Monday, January 27, 2025, at 8526 Mary Ivy Dr.

According to the initial 911 call, the fire originated as a controlled burn that quickly escalated beyond the homeowner’s control.

HCFR crews responded rapidly to the scene and began aggressive firefighting efforts to contain the rapidly spreading blaze and prevent further damage. The situation remains active, with firefighters working diligently to bring the fire fully under control.

The fire has already caused significant damage, impacting a substantial amount of property:

  • 12 vehicles
  • 6 boats
  • 2 travel trailers
  • 1 semi-trailer
  • 2 detached sheds

Despite the extensive property damage, HCFR has confirmed that no injuries have been reported to either residents or firefighting personnel.
