HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis unveiled nearly $18 million in grants to boost infrastructure across the state, including improvements to ports and rail facilities.
Among the largest recipients, the Port of Tampa Bay will receive $6.2 million to expand a terminal that can handle an additional 500,000 tons of limerock annually.
Other notable grants include $2.6 million for the Jacksonville Port Authority to enhance rail capacity and storage at JAXPORT, and $3.9 million for a new CSX terminal in Plant City.

“A strong supply chain is key to Florida’s economic strength. We can’t rely on Washington—we need Florida-based solutions,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “These grants will help our state boost capacity and ensure vital materials reach projects on time.”
Florida Gulf & Atlantic Railroad in Lake City will receive $3.7 million for a new terminal, while Capital Asphalt in Tallahassee is slated to get $1.5 million to construct a new facility.
These investments are part of the state’s effort to strengthen its supply chain and support key infrastructure projects.
