The City of Pinellas Park will say goodbye to City Manager Doug Lewis on January 28, 2022, as he will retire after serving the of City of Pinellas Park from 2004 to 2022 and after 46 total years of dedicated public service.

Pinellas Park Will Say Goodbye To City Manager Doug Lewis And Welcome Incoming City Manager Bart Diebold

PINELLAS PARK, FL. – The City of Pinellas Park will say goodbye to City Manager Doug Lewis on January 28, 2022, as he will retire after serving the of City of Pinellas Park from 2004 to 2022 and after 46 total years of dedicated public service.

Following Mr. Lewis’ departure, Assistant City Manager, Bart Diebold, will be promoted to City Manager of the City of Pinellas Park.

Doug Lewis plans to enjoy his retirement by spending more time with his family, including his 4 grandchildren, traveling with his wife, Darlene, and doing a lot outdoor recreational activities. He will be greatly missed at the City of Pinellas Park.

Incoming City Manager, Bart Diebold, will take over as the City Manager of the City of Pinellas Park (1/28/22) upon Doug Lewis’ retirement.  Bart Diebold began with the City of Pinellas Park in November of 2013 as the Public Works Administrator.

Before that, Mr. Diebold was the Pinellas County Operations Manager for 15 years. He was promoted to Assistant City Manager for the City of Pinellas Park in December of 2020. During his career at Pinellas Park as the Public Works Administrator he spearheaded the accreditation of the Public Works Department by the American Public Works Association (APWA).

This accreditation is verification and recognition that the City of Pinellas Park’s Public Works Department applies the recommended public works management practices. The benefits to this achievement are that the City will experience increased operational performance, increased teamwork, reduced duplication of work and wasted resources, reduced liability, and lower insurance premiums.

Mr. Diebold is married to his wife, Jennifer, and has a daughter, Hannah (18). The City is looking forward to his tenure as its City Manager.

Other promotions include Keith Sabiel Jr., formerly Leisure Services Administrator to Public Works Administrator, and Angela Pietras, formerly the Director of the Barbara S. Ponce Library to Leisure Services Administrator.
