From July 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025, residents and visitors can expect to see heightened police patrols along US Highway 19 N, Park Blvd, and 66th St. The focus will be on addressing common traffic violations that contribute to accidents, such as:
- Intersection violations
- Driving under the influence (DUI)
- Speeding, aggressive, and distracted driving
- Lane departures
- Work zone violations
- Move over violations
This initiative is a continuation of FDOT District Seven’s commitment to safer roads, building on the success of the ELEE program, which was launched in 2022. By partnering with local law enforcement, FDOT aims to reduce crashes and injuries on state and federal highways under its jurisdiction.
The increased police presence is expected to raise awareness about safe driving practices and encourage greater compliance with traffic laws, ultimately contributing to a safer environment for all road users.
