PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – A Pinellas Park man, Evangelos Mitrakos, 65, was arrested on August 29th, 2024 for the murder of his wife, Leonora Vata, 56.
Police responded to a reported shooting at their residence on 6301 58th St N #404 around 9:20 AM. Upon arrival, Mitrakos was detained after confessing to the shooting. Vata was transported to a local hospital but was pronounced dead.

Investigations revealed the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute, during which Mitrakos shot Vata multiple times before contacting law enforcement.
Mitrakos is currently held in the Pinellas County Jail on charges of Second Degree Murder.
