PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – With hurricane season approaching, Pinellas County is urging residents to take advantage of two free drop-off sites to safely dispose of household hazardous waste. This initiative aims to prevent a last-minute rush and potential safety hazards associated with stockpiling chemicals as storms approach.
According to Pinellas County Solid Waste Director Paul Sacco, many common household chemicals can pose fire risks and environmental hazards if not properly disposed of. He advises residents to clear out these materials well ahead of the official start of hurricane season on June 1st.
