Pinellas County To Open Sandbag Distribution Locations Monday

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla; - Pinellas County will open sandbag distribution sites for unincorporated residents Monday in preparation for a possible hurricane.

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla; – Pinellas County will open sandbag distribution sites for unincorporated residents Monday in preparation for a possible hurricane.

Those who are not unincorporated Pinellas residents are advised to check with their municipalities for sandbag distribution locations.

John Chesnut Sr. Park and Walsingham Park will be closed Monday with the exception of sandbag operations.

General

  • Sandbags available while supplies last on Monday, Aug. 28, from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Sandbags limited to 10 per vehicle.
  • Residents will be required to show identification for proof of residency.
  • Sand, bags and shovels will be provided. Residents will fill up their own bags.
  • Sandbags are only recommended for residents who may experience minor flooding from rainfall. They will not protect against storm surge.
