PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – The Pinellas County Tax Collector’s office is going green this March, partnering with the Indian Rocks Beach Trash Tribe to support coastal conservation efforts.
Throughout the month, tax collector offices will be accepting donations for the Trash Tribe, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Pinellas County’s beaches and marine life. Customers who donate $10 or more will receive a “Florida Strong” koozie and stickers as a thank-you gift.
“We are proud to partner with IRB Trash Tribe and do our part in restoring our beloved beaches after the devastating 2024 hurricane season,” said Adam Ross, Pinellas County Tax Collector. “Keeping our coastline beautiful is important because it’s one of our most popular attractions and draws millions of visitors to our county each year.”

The Trash Tribe focuses on coastal cleanups, removing abandoned fishing gear, protecting endangered species like sea turtles, and educating the public about marine conservation. Their work has been vital in restoring beaches after Hurricanes Helene and Milton ravaged the coast in 2024.
To kick off the month-long campaign, members of the tax collector team volunteered at the Trash Tribe’s Mardi Gras beach cleanup on March 1st. They will also be sporting Trash Tribe t-shirts every Wednesday in March to raise awareness for the cause.
This partnership is part of the tax collector’s ongoing commitment to supporting local non-profits that make a positive impact on the community. For more information on the Indian Rocks Beach Trash Tribe and their conservation efforts, visit irbtrashtribe.org.
