PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office is hosting a career fair on September 19, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Pinellas County Jail located at 14400 49th Street North in Clearwater.

The career fair will highlight the Sherriff’s Office’s current openings for Detention Deputy Recruit, Pre-Certified Detention Deputy, Criminal Justice Specialist, Inmate Property Technician, Inmate Records Specialist I, Inmate Records Specialist III, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), and Medical Assistant.

Members will be on-site to answer questions pertaining to the open positions.

There will be members of the Human Resources Bureau also on-site to discuss other available positions with the Sheriff’s Office.

On-site interviews will be conducted for medical positions (LPN and Medical Assistant). Jail tours will also be provided. Appropriate attire is required.

Applicants must be able to complete a successful background investigation which includes:

-Polygraph examination

-Nicotine, tobacco, and drug screening, and medical examination

-Previous employer reference verification and personal reference check

-Criminal history check and fingerprinting

-Education verification

-Credit check (applicable for some positions)

-Psychological evaluation (applicable for some positions)

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office currently offers a $20,000 signing bonus for Pre-Certified Detention Deputies and a $15,000 signing bonus for Detention Deputy Recruits (no prior experience required).
