PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Pinellas County Detectives assigned to the Robbery/Homicide Unit are investigating the death of 55-year-old inmate Trevor Weigl.
Detectives say Weigl was booked into the Pinellas County Jail on November 30, 2022, after being arrested by the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office for Sexual Battery.
According to detectives, Weigl had a preexisting medical condition and was receiving hospice care while housed at the jail. Weigl was pronounced deceased on October 17, 2023, at approximately 1:08 a.m.

At this point in the investigation, detectives have found no evidence that Weigl was involved in any physical altercations or sustained any injuries while incarcerated at the jail.
Weigl’s next of kin has been notified.
