This DUI Wolf Pack is dedicated to Dustin Horne and his family. Dustin lost his life on October 29, 2018, on State Road 64 in Myakka City. Dustin was hit head-on by Brandon Blalock, who was an impaired driver under the influence of alcohol and in possession of marijuana.

As a result, Dustin’s truck flipped multiple times. Dustin left behind a young son and a family determined to ensure Dustin is never forgotten in hopes of saving other lives.

On June 30, 2022, Blalock was sentenced to eight years for DUI Manslaughter after pleading no contest to three charges.

The Sheriff’s Office emphasizes that impaired driving is a preventable violent crime with potentially devastating consequences. They urge residents to choose alternative transportation options if they plan on consuming alcohol or other substances that could impair their ability to drive safely.
