Pinellas County Seeks Public Input On Housing And Community Development

PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Pinellas County is collaborating with the City of Largo to gather public feedback on housing and community development needs, shaping priorities for the next five years. This initiative will guide the 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan, outlining how federal funds will be used to address community needs like housing, infrastructure, and social services, with a focus on low- and moderate-income residents.

Residents, local organizations, and agencies are invited to participate in the process by completing an online Community Needs Assessment at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PinellasNeedsAssessmentSurvey until Friday, Nov. 22, 2024.

The County is also analyzing impediments to fair housing by looking at laws, ordinances, statutes, administrative policies, and local conditions that affect the location, availability, and accessibility of housing.

The Fair Housing Survey can be completed at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/PinellasFairHousingSurvey until Friday, Nov. 22, 2024.

Both surveys are open until November 22nd, 2024.

Public meetings will also be held:

  • Tarpon Springs Public Library: October 29th (Fair Housing and Needs Assessment)
  • Largo Public Library: November 6th (Needs Assessment and Fair Housing)
  • Lealman Exchange: November 13th (Fair Housing and Needs Assessment)

Paper survey copies will be available at the meetings. Reasonable accommodations for those with disabilities or needing language assistance can be requested by contacting Pinellas County’s Office of Human Rights.
