PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Drivers in Pinellas County should be aware of upcoming nighttime closures on the I-275 Express Lanes and several ramps along the SR 690 (Gateway Expressway) next week.
The closures are scheduled to take place from 11:00 PM to 5:00 AM nightly, starting Friday night, January 17th, and continuing through Friday, January 24th, weather permitting.
Closures and Detours:
- Westbound SR 690 exit to 118th Avenue N: Drivers heading to southbound US 19 or 118th Avenue N/Bryan Dairy Road should exit to 118th Avenue at 31st Ct. N, turn left at the signal, and proceed west on 118th Avenue N.
- Westbound SR 690 exit ramp onto northbound US 19: Traffic will be detoured to exit onto westbound 118th Avenue N, turn right onto northbound Frontage Road, and then use the entrance ramp onto northbound US 19.
- 118th Avenue N entrance ramp onto eastbound SR 690: Drivers should continue east on 118th Avenue N and turn right at 31st Court N to access northbound or southbound I-275.
- Southbound US 19 exit ramp onto SR 690: Drivers can exit at Ulmerton Road, go south on Frontage Road, turn left onto eastbound 118th Avenue N, and use the left lane entrance ramp onto eastbound SR 690.
- I-275 Express Lanes: Both northbound and southbound I-275 Express Lanes may be closed. Drivers can use the I-275 general use (free) travel lanes.
- Eastbound SR 690 Express Lane ramp onto northbound I-275: Drivers can use the general use (free) entrance ramp to access the free lanes of northbound I-275.

Plan Your Route
Drivers are encouraged to plan their routes accordingly and allow for extra travel time during these overnight closures. The closures are necessary for ongoing construction and maintenance activities along the I-275 Express Lanes and the Gateway Expressway.
