PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Pinellas County Urban Forestry is inviting residents to celebrate National Arbor Day with a free tree giveaway this Saturday, April 19th, from 9 a.m. to noon. The event will take place at the County’s Urban Forestry and Landscape Services campus, located at 4550 126th Ave N, Clearwater.
In an effort to promote a greener community and encourage residents to plant more trees, the county is offering a variety of shade and accent trees on a first-come, first-served basis. Each household is eligible to receive up to two free trees.

The selection includes a diverse range of native and adaptable species, such as:
- Bald cypress (Taxodiumdistichum)
- Dahoon holly (Ilexcassine)
- American elm (Ulmusamericana)
- South Florida Slash pine (Pinuselliottiivar.densa)
- Longleaf pine (Pinuspalustris)
- Red bay (Perseaborbonia)
- Simpson stopper (Myrcianthesfragrans)
- Florida privet (Forestierasegregata)
The trees are typically three feet or taller and come in 3-gallon pots, measuring 10 inches in diameter, making them ready for planting.

Residents are advised to arrive early, as the trees are expected to go quickly. This giveaway is a fantastic opportunity for homeowners to add valuable greenery to their property while celebrating the importance of trees in our ecosystem.
