PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – The Pinellas County Air Quality Section of Public Works is issuing an Air Pollution Advisory due to elevated levels of the pollutant Ozone.
This advisory is effective Thursday, 5/30/24.
“We anticipate experiencing high Moderate levels of Ozone with Air Quality Index (AQI) values from 51 – 100 with a potential of increased levels reaching the Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups category with AQI values from 101 – 150 according to current models,” said PCPW.

People sensitive to ozone or with lung disease such as asthma, older adults, children and teenagers, and people who are active outdoors should consider reducing prolonged or heavy outdoor exertion.
This alert remains in effect throughout Friday.
This elevated level of ozone is due in part to the presence of high temperatures, dry air conditions, and a high-pressure system affecting the region. If the AQI forecast changes, this advisory may be lifted.
