PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla – The Pinellas County Air Quality section of Public Works has lifted its Air Pollution Advisory that was due to elevated levels of fine Particulate Matter (PM) pollution.

This advisory had been in effect Oct. 3 and 4. It was due in part to a smoke plume from distant wildfires being transported by wind conditions to our area and throughout the state.

Fine particle levels have decreased, according to current local air monitoring data, and are expected to be within the moderate range today.

There shouldn’t be a significant concern for the general public. Unusually sensitive individuals may want to still consider limiting outdoor activity.

Air Quality Index values from 51 to 100 are considered moderate. To keep informed on any changes in your air quality, individuals can check EPA’s AirNow website for the latest available local Air Quality Index.
