PINELLAS COUNTY, Fla. – Pinellas County is opening three more emergency shelters to provide safe refuge for residents as Hurricane Milton approaches. The shelters will open at 9:30 a.m. today at the following locations:

  • Palm Harbor Middle School, 1800 Tampa Road, Palm Harbor
  • New Heights Elementary School, 3901 37th St. N., St. Petersburg
  • Fairmount Park Elementary School, 575 41st St. S., St. Petersburg

These are general population shelters and do not accept pets. However, Pinellas County offers three pet-friendly shelters. A full list of open shelters can be found at disaster.pinellas.gov.

Shelter Space Filling Up

Residents are urged not to delay in seeking shelter, as space is filling up quickly. The County Information Center is available 24/7 to answer questions at (727) 464-4333.
