A pilot made a safe landing and take-off in Florida on Interstate 10 Friday, according to Florida Highway Patrol.

At 4:02 pm, the Florida Highway Patrol Communications Center was notified of a plane on Interstate 10 near the 275 mile marker.

Once FHP Troopers, Suwannee County, Deputies, and Florida Dept. of Agriculture Officers
arrived on the scene, it was revealed the Pilot had made an emergency landing using the eastbound lanes of the Interstate.

The Pilot who was headed to Cross City discovered that when he attempted to switch from one fuel tank
to the second tank a supply failure occurred, forcing the emergency landing.

Once the plane had landed it was pushed to the center grass median until it could be refueled. At approximately 6:22 pm, the Interstate was closed in order for the plane to take off using the eastbound lanes.

“TEAM work between local law enforcement agencies and alert motorists made the landing and subsequent take-off of the Cessna 152 successful with no injuries or property damage,” said FHP.
