A Pennsylvania insurance salesman, Brandon Aumiller, has been sentenced to 24 months in prison for dodging his personal and business taxes.

Court records revealed that Aumiller, from Milroy, filed tax returns from 2007 and 2009-2011 admitting he owed taxes but failed to pay them. He also neglected to pay employment taxes for his business in 2013 and 2014.

When the IRS tried to collect, Aumiller went to great lengths to hide his assets. He used fake bank accounts, concealed real estate deals, and submitted false financial information to the IRS.

Aumiller’s actions resulted in a tax loss of $478,270 to the IRS.

In addition to the prison sentence, U.S. District Judge Christopher C. Conner ordered Aumiller to serve three years of supervised release and pay approximately $180,000 in restitution.

The case was investigated by IRS Criminal Investigation and prosecuted by the Tax Division and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.
