A Pennsylvania man has been arrested and charged with homicide after allegedly stabbing his girlfriend to death and injuring her brother in a dispute over a haircut.
On Sunday, November 3rd, police responded to a stabbing incident at a home in East Hempfield Township. They found Benjamin Garcia Gual, 49, in his vehicle with a knife. His girlfriend, Carmen Martinez-Silva, was found dead in the yard. Martinez-Silva’s brother was also at the scene suffering from stab wounds to the head. He is expected to survive.

According to reports, Martinez-Silva had stayed at her daughter’s house the night before because she was afraid of Garcia Gual. Her daughter had cut her hair, a style that allegedly angered Garcia Gual to the point that he threatened violence.
Martinez-Silva went to her brother’s home the next day, where Garcia Gual confronted them both. He allegedly stabbed Martinez-Silva’s brother and then fatally stabbed Martinez-Silva when she tried to intervene.
Garcia Gual has been charged with criminal homicide, attempted criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment.
