SAINT PETERSBURG, Fla. – Shortly after 10 p.m., on Saturday, a black Dodge Ram was heading northbound on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South and struck a pedestrian who was crossing the road.
The pedestrian, Gloria Jean Ferrara, 54, of St. Petersburg, was crossing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South at 30th Avenue South. She was transported to Bayfront Health-St Petersburg with serious injuries.
The driver stopped and is cooperating. Alcohol and/or drugs did not play a part in this crash, from the driver or pedestrian.
Investigators closed the northbound lanes of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Street South between 32nd Avenue South and 30th Avenue South for several hours.
The Investigation is ongoing.
