SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. – A fatal vehicle crash involving a pedestrian occurred at the intersection of South Indiana Avenue and West Cowles Street in Englewood Tuesday, prompting a road closure and ongoing investigation.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office, the Sarasota County Fire Department, and the Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene. Tragically, one person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The intersection of South Indiana Avenue and West Cowles Street was closed to all northbound and southbound traffic as the Florida Highway Patrol conducted an investigation into the circumstances of the crash. The roadway has since reopened.
