Pedestrian Fatally Struck In Wesley Chapel On Bruce B Downs

WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – A 33-year-old Wesley Chapel man was tragically killed after being struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Bruce B Downs Boulevard and Aronwood Boulevard early Friday morning.

According to investigators, a Chevy Express van driven by a 51-year-old Largo man was traveling southbound on Bruce B Downs Boulevard and proceeded through a green light at the intersection.

At the same time, the pedestrian attempted to cross the street against a “do not walk” signal, stepping into the path of the oncoming van.

The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries at the scene. The driver of the van was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation.
