PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – The Pasco Sheriff’s Office (PSO) is alerting residents of a jury duty scam circulating in the area. Scammers, falsely claiming to be PSO representatives, are contacting individuals and informing them that they have missed jury duty and owe a fee.

These fraudsters often use the names of real PSO members to appear credible and may use blocked or spoofed phone numbers to mimic official PSO lines, such as the general information line.

They then instruct victims to make payments through platforms like PayPal.

PSO emphasizes that these calls are not legitimate.

  • PSO does not handle jury duty notifications.
  • PSO will never demand payment over the phone to resolve any issue.

If you receive a suspicious call regarding missed jury duty and a request for payment, hang up immediately. You can also report the incident to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.
