PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A Pasco Sheriff’s deputy was rescued from a submerged vehicle in Dade City after it overturned while conducting flood reconnaissance. The incident occurred on Dixie Avenue while the deputy and a Dade City police officer were assessing flood conditions in the area.
The police officer was able to escape the overturned vehicle, but the sheriff’s deputy became trapped. The Dade City officer, along with help from nearby citizens, successfully freed the deputy from the vehicle.

The Pasco Sheriff’s deputy was transported to a local hospital. No further details on their condition or the cause of the accident are available at this time.
