Pasco Sheriff: Gulf Highlands Elementary Briefly On Controlled Campus, No Threat Found

PASCO COUNTY, Fla.- Pasco Sheriff’s Office reported that Gulf Highlands Elementary School was temporarily placed on controlled campus status as deputies investigated a student’s claim of bringing a firearm to school.

The student in question was located, and no weapon was found.

The Sheriff’s Office confirmed that this was an isolated incident and there was no ongoing threat to the school. Gulf Highlands Elementary has returned to its normal operations.
