PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco has issued a crucial message regarding a persistent warrant scam targeting residents.
The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is receiving ongoing reports of this fraudulent activity and is urging the community to spread awareness to protect their loved ones from falling victim.
In a recent video message, Sheriff Nocco addressed the increasing number of scam attempts where individuals receive calls or emails claiming to be from the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.

These scammers may even use the names of actual Sheriff’s Office personnel to lend credibility to their claims. They inform the victim that they have an outstanding warrant and instruct them to send money to resolve the issue.
Sheriff Nocco emphasized that the Pasco Sheriff’s Office never contacts individuals by phone or email regarding warrants. If you have a warrant, deputies will either knock on your door or stop you during a traffic stop. They will never ask for money over the phone or via email.
The Sheriff urges everyone to share this information widely to help prevent others from falling prey to this scam. He stressed the importance of vigilance, especially as scammers seem to be intensifying their efforts.
