Pasco Officials Reassure Voters a Safe Environment for Election

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Joint Statement by Sheriff Chris Nocco and Supervisor of Elections Brian Corley Regarding Upcoming Election Security.

Sheriff Nocco and Supervisor of Elections Corley want to reassure voters that they can expect a safe environment at all early voting locations and election day polling places for the upcoming General Election. The offices have partnered in the past to provide election security, and in joint recognition of the vital role elections play in our country, they are once again committed to the citizens of Pasco County to safely exercise their right to vote.

To date, there have been no threats for the upcoming General Election in Pasco County, however, Sheriff Nocco and Supervisor Corley want to ensure voters in advance that they will remain vigilant for any possible threats or developments that could potentially compromise the security of voting locations.

In accordance with Florida Law, each early voting site and election day polling place has a Poll Deputy who is deputized by both Supervisor Corley and Sheriff Nocco. Poll Deputies play a vital role in ensuring maintenance of order at the polls. If a situation requires law enforcement, the Poll Deputy is trained to notify Supervisor Corley’s Election Day Command Center, and if needed, a Pasco Sheriff’s Deputy will be dispatched to the voting location.
