PINELLAS PARK, Fla. – A Pasco County man has been arrested after making threats to an adult daycare center and a standoff with police.
According to officials, Largo Police Officers responded to a call for service from a business owner where a former student at Holtons Helping Hand, an adult daycare located at 7551 Ulmerton Rd., Largo, has been communicating written threats to conduct a mass shooting.
In addition to the threats to the daycare, the suspect, who resides part-time in Pasco County, also threatened his parents about killing them and his child’s mother, police say.

During the investigation, probable cause was developed for the arrest of Michael Dixon for the felony charge of Threatening Communications or Threats of Mass Shooting.
“The subject was located in his parked vehicle by the Pinellas Park Police Department at 8901 US 19 North. Attempts to get the subject to exit his vehicle were unsuccessful,” said Largo Police Department.
A SWAT call was initiated by the Pinellas Park Police Department, who requested assistance from the Largo Police Department.
The subject continued to barricade himself inside his vehicle and refused to comply with law enforcement.
At approximately 8:00 am on Monday the man peacefully surrendered and was taken into custody without incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
