WESLEY CHAPEL, Fla. – Motorists traveling northbound on Interstate 75 will encounter a temporary closure of Exit 279 (State Road 54/CR 54 – Wesley Chapel Blvd.) overnight on Sunday, April 6th.
The closure will be in effect from 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 6th, to 5:00 a.m. on Monday, April 7th, weather permitting. Additionally, the right two lanes of northbound I-75 approaching the exit will also be closed.
Drivers seeking to access SR 54/CR 54 will be detoured as follows:
- Continue northbound on I-75 to Exit 285 (State Road 52).
- Turn right onto eastbound SR 52.
- Make a U-turn at Pasco Road onto westbound SR 52.
- Continue west on SR 52 and use the right lane to access the loop ramp onto southbound I-75.
- Continue southbound on I-75 to Exit 279 (SR 54/CR 54).

Alternate Detour (Recommended for Time Savings):
Due to the significant time added by the primary detour, drivers may consider the following alternate route:
- Exit northbound I-75 at Exit 275 (State Road 56).
- Turn right onto eastbound SR 56.
- Turn left onto northbound Bruce B. Downs Boulevard (SR 581).
- Continue north on SR 581 to SR 54.
