PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County is gearing up to celebrate Arbor Day with a free tree giveaway for residents. In partnership with Keep Pasco Beautiful and the Florida Forest Service, Urban & Community Forestry Grant, the county will distribute over 150 native trees in three-gallon pots on Friday, January 17th, 2025.

Pre-registration is required and can be completed online. Trees are available on a first-come, first-served basis, with a limit of one tree per person.
In addition to the tree giveaway, residents can participate in free events designed to promote tree planting and care:
- Dade City: A free tree-planting seminar will be held at the UF/IFAS Extension office.
- New Port Richey: A hands-on tree-planting event will take place at Frances Avenue Park.
The Pasco County Board of County Commissioners has officially declared January 17th, 2025, as Arbor Day, encouraging all residents to plant and preserve trees.
Florida has observed Arbor Day on the third Friday in January since 1886. This annual tradition highlights the importance of trees in our environment and encourages communities to actively participate in tree planting and conservation efforts.
