PASCO COUNTY, FL. – On Tuesday, Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco presented information to the Board of County Commissioners regarding staffing concerns faced by the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.

Notably, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Pasco is 64th out of 67 counties for the ratio of deputies to citizens served, at just 1.06 deputies per 1,000 citizens, trailing all other nearby counties.

“As we work to make sure that priority calls, which threaten life and public safety, are responded to as quickly as possible, this lack of staffing directly impacts our ability to respond to non-life-threatening and non-public safety threatening calls for service and proactive traffic enforcement,” said PSO.

On Tuesday, Pasco Sheriff Chris Nocco presented information to the Board of County Commissioners regarding staffing concerns faced by the Pasco Sheriff’s Office.

“The Pasco Sheriff’s Office is committed to the safety and security of our community, which our community deserves, and will continue to work with the Board of County Commissioners to address this staffing concern. We will continue to share updates through this process to keep our community informed,” said PSO.
