PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – The Pasco Sheriff’s Office has arrested a River Ridge High School student for making online threats against several Pasco County schools. The student’s name and age were not released.
The schools targeted by this student’s threats were Mitchell High School, River Ridge High School, Gulf High School, Fivay High School, Hudson High School, Hudson Academy, and River Ridge Middle School.

This arrest comes amidst a surge in school threat-related calls, with over 100 received in the past two weeks.
According to the Pasco Sheriff’s Office, the student faces charges of written threats to commit a mass shooting, disruption of school function, and violation of probation.
They also impersonated school officials, sending a false message about a student with a firearm and a potential lockdown. The student admitted to this act, claiming it was done to avoid class.
Despite this incident, the Pasco Sheriff’s Office assures the public that there are no known threats to any schools in the county.

This arrest marks the fifth in two weeks related to school threats. The Sheriff’s Office urges parents to discuss the serious consequences of making threats with their children.
