PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Pasco County Schools will remain closed on Monday, October 14th, as the community continues to recover from the impacts of Hurricane Milton.

The district cites several factors contributing to the closure, including:

  • Widespread power outages: Many schools are still without power.
  • Facility damage: Some schools require repairs due to storm damage.
  • Dangerous road conditions: Debris and flooding make travel unsafe in some areas.
  • Fuel shortages: Countywide fuel shortages are impacting the district’s ability to operate school buses safely.

“Our priority is the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families. We encourage everyone to follow local guidance, avoid unsafe areas, and conserve fuel as much as possible during this time of recovery,” said Pasco County Schools.

The district will provide an update on Sunday, October 13th, regarding the status of schools for Tuesday, October 15th. Families are encouraged to stay tuned for updates via email, social media, and the district’s website.
