DADE CITY, Fla. – Pasco County Fire Rescue (PCFR) responded to a fire on Wednesday evening on Mission Valley Drive in Dade City.
Crews arrived at the scene around 5:45 PM to find flames coming from the roof of a detached garage. Firefighters quickly worked to extinguish the blaze, preventing it from spreading to the main house or other nearby structures.

Following the fire, PCFR investigators determined that the cause of the fire was electrical in nature.
The Pasco County Fire Rescue encourages all residents to:
- Have working smoke detectors in their homes and test them regularly.
- Have a fire escape plan and practice it with family members.
- Be cautious with electrical appliances and wiring.
- Never leave cooking unattended.
