PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – Time is running out to get to higher ground ahead of Hurricane Idalia. If you live in evacuation Zone A – you’re under a mandatory evacuation order, and it’s time to leave.
It is not safe to stay in homes along Pasco’s coastline, which is expecting life-threatening storm surge Tuesday night into Wednesday.
Pasco County is also expecting hurricane-force winds and heavy rain, and everyone living in Zones B and C should leave, as well.

Please take these evacuation orders seriously. The storm is forecast to pass west of Pasco County, which means we’ll be on the most dangerous side of the storm. If you can’t stay further inland with family or friends, or at a hotel, Pasco County has six shelters available – and they’re all pet-friendly. Find a shelter near you at MyPasco.net.
“We’re asking everyone to stay off the roads after 8 p.m., as weather conditions are expected to deteriorate, so plan to be in a safe place to ride out the storm by then. Emergency crews might not be able to respond immediately to calls for help if wind speeds become too dangerous to be on the roads,” said Pasco County EOC.
Pasco County is closing sandbag sites Tuesday evening, so if you need sandbags to protect your property from flooding, be prepared to bring your own bags and a shovel and be off the roads by 8 p.m.
Pasco County Government offices will be closed Wednesday; however, our Customer Service Center is answering calls 24 hours a day at 727-847-2411.
