Pasco County Animal Services Represented on National Board

PASCO COUNTY, FL. – Pasco County Animal Services (PCAS) is excited to take its progressive approach to animal sheltering to the national level with Assistant Director Spencer Conover’s recent appointment to the Board of Directors for the National Animal Care & Control Association (NACA).

“When you look at the NACA board, you’re looking at communities like Dallas and Charlotte, and now you see Pasco County in that group,” said Conover.  “It’s a great opportunity for our organization to be recognized with the top animal welfare organizations in the country, and we’re excited to contribute to the innovation and synergy that benefits pets nationwide.”

Conover joined Pasco County Animal Services in April 2018.  His background in animal welfare includes work with Best Friends Animal Society and the Dumb Friends League animal shelter in Denver.

As part of the NACA board, he will help shape policy, create programs and provide support to animal control agencies around the United States.  Conover will serve a one-year unexpired term before becoming eligible for election to a three-year term in 2021.

Conover is also part of the industry engagement working group for Human Animal Support Services (HASS), facilitated by American Pets Alive! and has been a key contributor in PCAS’s own success and 90%-plus save rate at the shelter.
