POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A late-night disturbance in the Manors at Westridge neighborhood led to a manhunt for 53-year-old Mark Dorminey of Haines City.

Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene on Saturday, July 20th, around 2:51 a.m., only to find Dorminey had already fled.

“Deputy Sobha invited additional units to the area…it was a party…a suspect search party: said Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

Suspecting Dorminey’s flight might be due to his three active arrest warrants from Polk and Seminole Counties, deputies, with the help of the Aviation and K9 Units, quickly located him hiding under a tree in a nearby wooded area.

Despite his attempt to evade capture, Dorminey reportedly claimed he wasn’t hiding and questioned why deputies were searching for him. He was promptly arrested on his warrants and taken into custody.

Dorminey was booked into the Polk County Jail.
