RIVERVIEW, Fla. – Drivers in Riverview and Apollo Beach should be aware of upcoming overnight ramp closures at the I-75 and Big Bend Road interchange. These closures are necessary for ongoing construction work to improve the interchange.
Here’s the schedule:
- Tonight, December 10th: The southbound I-75 ramp to westbound Big Bend Road (Exit 246) will be closed from 10:00 PM to 1:00 AM.
- Wednesday, December 11th: The southbound I-75 ramp to eastbound Big Bend Road (Exit 246) will be closed from 1:30 AM to 5:00 AM.

Detours will be in place:
- Westbound Big Bend Road Detour: Motorists will be directed to use the eastbound ramp, make a U-turn at Lincoln Road, and then proceed westbound on Big Bend Road.
- Eastbound Big Bend Road Detour: Motorists will be directed to use the westbound ramp and follow a detour route via Covington Garden Drive, Old Big Bend Road, and Kings Lake Drive.
Advanced warning signs and electronic message boards will be posted to guide drivers. However, motorists should anticipate delays and congestion in the area during these overnight closures.

These ramp closures are part of the ongoing I-75 interchange improvements at Big Bend Road. The project is expected to be completed in the summer of 2025.
