More than 650,000 Floridians have already voted by mail in the upcoming August 20 primary elections, as early voting sites begin to open this week.
According to the state Division of Elections website, 277,922 Republicans and 265,152 Democrats have returned their vote-by-mail ballots to county election supervisors.
Additionally, 98,078 unaffiliated voters and 9,360 third-party voters have cast their ballots by mail. Another 1.725 million vote-by-mail ballots are yet to be returned to supervisors.
While counties are mandated to offer in-person early voting starting Saturday, some have already commenced early voting on Monday.
As of June 30, Florida had over 13.4 million registered voters, comprising 5,257,407 Republicans, 4,300,964 Democrats, and 3,507,230 unaffiliated voters.
