POLK COUNTY, Fla. – Orlando resident Tiffany West, 36, faces vehicular homicide charges for a fatal crash in Davenport on July 19th.

Polk County Sheriff’s investigators determined West was driving at excessive speeds, 72-79 mph in a 30 mph zone.

The crash tragically killed 39-year-old Alicia Carmona and injured her two children, who are now recovering with their aunt.

“I am happy to say that the two children have been released from the hospital and they are now living with their aunt. They still have some physical injuries to recover from, but even worse for them is that they lost their mother due to the irresponsible actions of Tiffany West,” said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

Blood tests are pending, with investigators suspecting impairment and expecting additional charges, including DUI manslaughter, against West. The investigation continues.
