Orlando Man Arrested After Fleeing Florida Troopers At Speeds Exceeding 130 MPH, Crashing

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. – A 22-year-old Florida man is behind bars after fleeing from Florida Highway Patrol Troopers at speeds exceeding 130 mph and then crashing.

On Monday, a Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) Trooper saw a vehicle speeding in a 60 mph zone on Interstate 4 (I-4) in Seminole County.

The trooper clocked the driver at 100 mph and attempted to stop the vehicle.

The vehicle left I-4, crossed the median divider of County Road 46A, and proceeded west at a high speed, avoiding the Trooper.

According to FHP, the vehicle ran a red light on the International Parkway and performed a U-turn, then started driving east on County Road 46A, then turned back onto I-4, swerving at speeds exceeding 130 mph and intermittently turning the vehicle lights on and off.

The vehicle exited onto the westbound rest area of I-4 and collided with a parked semi after the man lost control of the vehicle. Subsequently, the driver ran on foot, abandoning injured passengers inside the crashed and incapacitated vehicle.

Witnesses saw the suspect escape and informed the Troopers, who established a perimeter and promptly apprehended the suspect, identified as Markeis D’Aundre Stubbs, 22, from Orlando, Florida.

At the crash site, law enforcement officers found a firearm, ammunition, and four grams of marijuana in the vehicle, all of which were seized as evidence.

Markeis D’Aundre Stubbs was transported to a local hospital, cleared of injuries, and then arrested for various offenses, including resisting officers without violence, driving without a valid license, hit and run involving injury, aggravated fleeing from police with injury or damage, and reckless driving.

Markeis D’Aundre Stubbs was processed and detained at Seminole County Jail.
